Containing the MESS!

As you can see, there was ceiling damage. Remodeling can be a stressful event in any homeowner's life.  A good contractor works to alleviate the stress of clean up by containing the dust and debris to the best of his or her ability.

Examples of Custom Trim work by James

Custom Trim

Old World, Pompeian Bath

This was the first remodeling project I worked with James on.  We remodeled the entire second floor of this beautiful 3 story historic Savannah home on Washington Square in 1999.   There was extensive prep work to the bathroom area to allow for the added weight of all the tile and corner whirlpool tub.  James reframed the floor and reinforced with steel plate to the old beams.

Tub and shower area framed up.

The beginnings of the mirror/vanity area.

This is the laundry room/closet room.  James built custom cabinetry around the stacked washer and dryer with pull out shelves and laundry bins.

The Egg and Dart Crown Moulding was installed even in the laundry room to tie the entire floor together.

This was my first Faux Finish Paint Project.  All four rooms were finished in a 4 layer Faux Finish to match the imported Italian Tile used in the bathroom and on the  laundry room floor.  There was extensive Crown Moulding and Trim work.  James also replaced the old glass sliding doors with new Anderson French Doors and replaced the old balcony wood.  Getting both the French Doors and the 6 foot whirlpool tub up to the second story was a challenge.  The staircase was too narrow to bring either of them up inside so James had to make a  cantilevered pulley system from the roof top and CAREFULLY lift it up from the 6X8' courtyard below!

You can see the step out Crown around the windows in the Sitting Room.

Beautiful Crown around the Fireplace.

These pictures are old 35 mm and some had some damage to them but hopefully you can see the lovely tile work.  The Homeowner wanted an Old World, Pompeian Bath feel and she was entirely pleased with the finished product.

Stylish Shelves | The Family Handyman

Stylish Shelves The Family Handyman

There are some wonderful things to do with Built In's.... Turning an entire wall into beautiful display area and extra seating is a fantastic idea. James has done some really lovely custom built in wall units. I'll post some of his work later but this gives you an idea of what can be done.

Dream BIG!

Do you need more room?  Has your family expanded and outgrown your current abode?  This family needed more space but the only place they could go was up...into the dark and scary attic!  But never fear!  James is here!!

After TONS of preparation: structural, electrical, plumbing and modifying and salvaging different wood flooring that the homeowner had purchased at a few auctions,  James was finally able to begin creating the Master Suite of their dreams.

(The doors were not installed when I took these photos and I never got any with them on!  I know, I know...quite remiss of me!)

A BIG bed was ordered to go under that mantle!

LOVE these copper sinks and the beautiful marble tile!

Don't limit yourself!  Talk to James about the possibilites that might be available for your own home!  Call him today :  660-734-1857
